چکیده

Space station configuration is built in space by separate modules attaching. Its life is supported by transport vehicles. Under these conditions the task of safe and reliable interaction between space vehicles or the task of flight control of interacting vehicles takes on great significance. To solve this task it is necessary to take into consideration additional mutual requirements and constraints, which appear on all control levels and phases. Flight control problems during interaction between transport vehicles and space station are analyzed in this paper on the base of flight experience of the Mir orbital complex (OC), the Soyuz transport vehicle (TV) and the Progress transport cargo vehicle (TCV). The main principles of flight control ensuring the nominal interaction of several vehicles on orbit which would be appropriate for use in the International Space Station (ISS) program are given in this paper. Work of control teams on different phases of operations planning and execution and also requirements, which are necessary to provide vehicles orbital interaction during different operations execution, are dealt with in this paper. The real facts from the Mir, the Soyuz and the Progress control practice are considered. Recommendations are given to arrange the vehicles interaction in the ISS program which will be used in the coming years.

Investigation of Secondary Neutron Production in Large Space Vehicles for Deep Space

Future human spaceflight programs will focus on deep space, asteroids, lunar, and Mars surface operations with larger, more massive spacecraft structures necessary for transportation of crew and cargo. In addition to the challenges of manufacturing and launching these larger, more massive structures, there are added challenges from the space radiation environment and its impacts on the crew, el...

Stress Analysis of Flight Vehicles under Flight Conditions

A method is presented for the stress analysis of flight vehicles under different flight conditions including gust and control surface deflection (or maneuver) using the governing equations of rigid-body motions and elastic deformations. The Lagrangian approach is used to derive the governing equations of motions. For this purpose, the basic equations of motions are derived in terms of potential...

Calcium utilization by quail embryos during activities preceding space flight and during embryogenesis in microgravity aboard the orbital space station MIR.

A series of studies were conducted to determine the effect of activities preceding spaceflight and during space-flight on calcium utilization during quail embryonic development. In the pre-space trials, fertile quail eggs were subjected to pre-flight dynamics including forces of centrifugation, vibration, or a combination of vibration and centrifugation prior to incubation for 6 or 16 days. Qua...
